Paul Brook – Juxtapose
Imagine standing between two individuals, perhaps a couple or close friends. In this scenario, we have a married man and woman.
The man receives a business card and is instructed to think of any two-digit number, which he secretly writes down without revealing it to anyone.
Meanwhile, his wife possesses a business card with approximately forty numbers on the back. She is asked to choose four of these numbers and sum them up quietly.
With a snap of your fingers, both participants will reveal the numbers they are thinking of.
After a brief moment, you snap your fingers.
Both the man and his wife exclaim, “eighty-three!” in unison!
They are left utterly astonished.
As a memorable keepsake, the man retains his card, and the woman keeps hers.
Is this a mystical bond, or merely a reflection of their shared psychology?
This effect is impressively simple, requiring just two business cards and a marker pen.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While this effect is incredibly easy to perform, it does require a basic understanding of simple mentalism techniques.
