About Al Leech:
Alfred B. Leech (October 19, 1918 – July 7, 1974) was a prominent figure in the magic community. Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Chicago, he balanced a career in journalism with his passion for card magic. During the 1940s and 1950s, he was a key player in Chicago’s vibrant magic scene, earning respect comparable to that of Marlo. In the late 1950s, he relocated to New York, where he collaborated with legends like Dai Vernon, Harry Lorayne, and Frank Garcia. Notably, he served as the publicity chairman for the inaugural combined IBM/SAM convention. One of his signature effects is the renowned card trick, Red Hot Mama.
