All I could think was… He’s Not Here…” EFFECT: Have you ever felt as though the eyes in a photograph were following you? Years ago, when we moved into our current home, a small family photo hung on the wall, and odd occurrences began. At first, it was minor—just a crooked photo. Then one day, it inexplicably ended up on the table. Things began to shift within the photo! One morning, we noticed the table in the picture had switched sides. It escalated until the photo flew off the wall and hit me, cracking the frame. I couldn’t take it anymore—I tore it apart and discarded it. But a week later, a package arrived with the cracked frame and the photo pieces perfectly reassembled like a jigsaw puzzle. We had no clue who sent it or why. The magician lays out the photo pieces on the table, inviting the spectator to examine them closely. They select a piece and focus on one person within it. As the magician reads a list of random names, the spectator names the person they are thinking of. Through research, we discovered that one individual in the photo had gone missing just a year prior—his name was Robert (the name the spectator thought of). To this day, no one knows what happened to him. When the piece is flipped over, the person is mysteriously absent.
