Magic for BLM: A Pay-What-You-Can Collection to Support BLM, NAACP, and NLG
This book features a diverse collection of theatrical magic routines, techniques, and essays. With contributions from thirty-five magicians across five countries, it includes thirty-nine unique entries. Spanning 282 pages, the book is enriched with 110 photos, illustrations, and tables.
Inside, you’ll discover magic involving cards, coins, candy, and measuring tape. The performances range from close-up and parlor to restaurant and digital formats, catering to various skill levels. You’ll find completely self-working tricks, semi-automatic routines, and challenging techniques. The magic utilizes everyday objects, standard magician’s props, and custom-made gaffs. Some entries are previously unpublished or created specifically for this project, while others are excerpts from acclaimed works or reprints from classic magic magazines. Whether you prefer card tricks with a borrowed deck, routines with custom stacks, or magic using a memorized deck, this collection offers something for every magic enthusiast.
The Purpose
In light of the current national movement against racist policing and police violence, it’s crucial to support organizations driving this change. This book serves as a fundraiser for Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, and the National Lawyers Guild. All proceeds from sales will be donated to these vital organizations to help sustain their efforts.
Availability
The book will be available until the evening of July 3rd, 2020.
