Roaming (Floating Cell Phone) by Sean Scott
Downloadable video tutorial included.
Roaming has remained a closely guarded secret, primarily showcased on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. Sean Scott has perfected this effect to captivate audiences in one of the most challenging environments imaginable. Designed to intrigue and astonish, this illusion is perfect for those who believe they’ve seen it all.
As spectators watch, you plug your headphones into your phone and release it, allowing it to hover in mid-air, suspended solely by the cord. The phone glides through space, rotating, diving, ascending, and stopping effortlessly in any direction.
You then make the phone float through a hoop formed by the headphone cord, creating the illusion of extraordinary technology that defies gravity.
Next, you unplug the headphones, and the phone magically transitions from your right hand to your left, with no visible support or cords in sight.
After pocketing your phone, you borrow a spectator’s device. You plug your headphones into their phone for safety, ensuring it won’t fall if something goes awry. The phone then levitates about six inches above your hand! When you attempt to pull it down, it instinctively returns to its original position. You then retrieve the phone with your open hand, unplug it, and return it to the spectator.
