The Cord and the Coins is my interpretation of Troy Houser’s renowned routine, “Charming Chinese Challenge,” inspired by Lance Pierce’s elegant version, “Recharmed I’m Sure.” This streamlined performance focuses solely on the three mesmerizing penetrations, reminiscent of the classic “Coins through the Silk,” designed to enhance the handling’s efficiency.
Crafted for professional close-up and table-hopping performances, this routine is virtually angle-proof, making it ideal for intimate settings.
One of the key challenges in developing this routine was creating a final penetration that delivers a powerful conclusion. Each move is meticulously explained from both the front and back angles, ensuring a clear understanding of the mechanics involved.
EFFECT
Three Chinese coins, each with a central hole, are examined by the audience and threaded onto a red cord, which is also inspected. One by one, the coins penetrate the cord effortlessly, and at the conclusion, the coins are released while the cord remains unscathed.
