This detailed guide outlines my signature card routine, a staple at all my professional performances.

While many magicians claim their routines have been in use for years, I can confidently say this one has truly been part of my repertoire for over a decade.

This routine features a multi-phase structure, utilizing props you already possess.

Designed for close-up performances, it resets instantly, so you won’t need to sneak away to start over.

Its modular design allows you to conclude the routine at any point, making it adaptable for unexpected interruptions (like those pesky canapé servers).

With seven distinct phases, you can deliver a compelling 7-10 minute performance, depending on your scripting choices.

Phase 1

A selected and signed card’s back changes color, making it either incredibly easy to locate or the most obvious marked card—your choice.

Phase 2

To eliminate any suspicion of sleight of hand, a card is remembered but not removed from the deck, with the marked card making another appearance.

Phase 3

Once again, the original signed card is missing, and now a participant must locate it. The magician slowly spreads the cards, allowing the helper to point to any card they wish, even giving them the option to change their mind. Miraculously, they find the signed card.

Phase 4

This phase showcases an astonishing demonstration of card control in a slow and clean manner. Yes, it’s a one-step ambitious card routine, but it’s perfectly timed for when the audience is eager to spot something—yet they won’t.

The participant holds their signed card while the magician holds a random card, and they switch places.

Phase 5

Offering to repeat the previous phase, the magician does so in an extremely visual manner. Just wait for the audience’s reaction!

Phase 6

The signed card appears in an unexpected location, leaving everyone astonished.

And just like that, you are reset.
