Think, Feel, CUT – Giacomo Bigliardi
Welcome to Think, Feel, CUT.
Here’s the starting point:
This project introduces innovative methods to cut to any four of a kind, freely named by the spectator, using a borrowed, shuffled deck. The goal was to create an experience that feels like real magic, not just a display of skill. Over three years, I delved into the theory, psychology, and subtleties that transform simple techniques into unforgettable magic.
Here’s what you’ll discover:
– In the Hands Work.
Perform routines entirely in your hands without the need for a table or surface:
Simple Cut. This foundational routine features a straightforward four of a kind cutting sequence, allowing you to locate the four aces while remembering the deck’s order.
Jazz Cut. After the audience shuffles the deck, you immediately cut to any four of a kind they name. The cards are never on top or bottom, and no breaks are used. This routine is a joy to perform and impresses fellow magicians.
– Table Work.
Learn three distinct moves that enable you to cut to any card effortlessly. Included is my take on the Cross Cut force, enhanced with techniques that revolutionized my approach. Additionally, you’ll receive three routines:
Delayed Cut. A cutting sequence that plays with audience expectations through timing and revelations.
Packets Cut. A deceptive cutting sequence that focuses on the flow and framing of your actions.
Matching Cards. The spectator manages the deck throughout, yet you can reveal the three mates to a card they’ve concealed from the start.
– Theory.
The theoretical aspect is vital to this project. An entire section is dedicated to it, with ongoing emphasis throughout. Topics include: the relationship between effect and method; crafting impactful magic with minimal sleights; framing actions to enhance believability; utilizing attitude for deceptive sleights; intentional mistakes, and much more!
