What Will He Teach?
The Contest: Poker Players Picnic REDUX by Ed Oschmann/Tom Dobrowolski
Hana Ho Card by Curtis Kam – With influences from Michael Weber and Curtis Kam, Tom has refined this trick into a true masterpiece. “Hana Ho” translates to “Do it Again!” in Hawaiian, and this effect provides a delightful encore using a signed card, making it extra special for the recipient.
Naked Deck Opener/Wait? What?? by Trent Ketchmark/Tom Dobrowolski – An ideal opener for card or close-up performances. A blank deck instantly reveals faces and backs. It’s fun, straightforward, and includes a variation where a card is selected, the deck turns blank, and then the faces and backs reappear, culminating in revealing the chosen card!
Neither Short-Sighted nor Mad by John Carey – A fantastic interpretation of Tamariz’s classic “Neither Blind nor Silly.” This routine, like much of John’s exceptional work, is incredibly enjoyable to perform!
Away We Go by Tom Dobrowolski – A straightforward and effective handling for a “cards across” routine.
Jim Ryan’s Last Trick by Tom Dobrowolski/Jim Ryan – A brilliant opener based on two of Jim Ryan’s classics, The Portal, from Tom’s first lecture.
Increasing the Odds by Patrick Flanagan – A simple yet powerful demonstration of “cheating at cards” that can lead into another routine or stand alone as an effect.
Misdirection: The Way of The Monkey by David Kuraya – This unique and captivating effect was so intriguing that I had to include it in the notes!
Something Borrowed, Something New by Jack Carpenter – Experience astonishing visual magic with minimal effort.
