“As a creator, I often overlook most releases, focusing only on those that provide fresh tools for my craft. If you’re in search of an intriguing impromptu mental mystery to enhance your skills, look no further!” –Michael Murray, author of Piece of My Mind

FAUXLOGICAL

RedDevil has returned! After a hiatus from the magical arts, he brings forth a new eBook focused on close-up mentalism. This work, titled FAUXLOGICAL, is nothing short of DIABOLICAL! While laymen will be captivated by the basic routine, this book is crafted as a challenge for mentalists and magicians alike: to create a routine that can deceive even those familiar with the plot.

“I was astonished by the depth of information he presented. The more I pondered, the more baffled I became. It seemed IMPOSSIBLE!” –Madison Hagler, author of Bang! chair test

FAUXLOGICAL is not merely a single routine; it comprises two distinct parts.

“Fauxlogical is a fantastic addition to this genre. It’s enjoyable because it can be performed impromptu, expanding your toolkit.” –Sudo, author of Mental-Diemensional and Hoshi’s Lucky Star

SECTION ONE: The first section features a classic effect—a which-hand routine utilizing the liar/truth-teller concept. Despite the audience’s awareness of the logic puzzle, they will remain unaware of the method behind it. This is achieved through a clever analogue approach, leading them to be misled by their own familiarity with similar routines.

“RedDevil introduced me to this, and I was left completely puzzled. It cleverly employs simple principles that defy expectations. This is a true magician’s fooler, while still being engaging for lay audiences.” –Mark Chandaue, author of Harpacrown

SECTION TWO: For those who appreciate unique mentalism tools, this section is a treasure trove. It offers a collection of innovative principles that can be integrated into countless routines. Building on the first section, it provides insights into various “pieces of devilry” that can be applied to create your own effects for years to come.

EFFECT:

The performer invites a spectator to engage in a personality reading and an experiment testing the power of intuition. Three un-gimmicked coins are presented for inspection.

With the performer turned away, the spectator tosses the coins into a cup and mixes them thoroughly. The performer then assesses her personality type: “free-spirited and hard to read” or “traditional and easier to predict.”

In a playful challenge, the spectator is asked to quickly select a few coins while the performer guesses her choices, providing insights into her character. This process is repeated to deepen the understanding of her personality.

Next, the performer claims to have gained enough insight to predict her choices with complete certainty. After mixing the coins again, the spectator is given the chance to secretly swap any two coins, allowing her to embrace her personality type.

Upon turning back, the performer asks her to name one of the coins, which she has freely chosen. In a demonstration of his skills, he will reveal the exact location of her selected coin.

The original routine conditions in SECTION ONE include:

  • No stages or sound cues.
  • No equivoque or dual reality.
  • No prior knowledge of the coins’ identities.
  • No gimmicked items; everything can be borrowed and performed instantly.
  • The chosen coin is entirely up to the spectator, who can freely name any coin.
  • Each performance can yield different results based on the spectator’s choices.
  • No complex mathematical principles or switching procedures are involved, aside from the liar/truth-teller method.
  • Compatible with coins from any country.

Contents in Both Sections:

  • Four Routines:
    • Fauxlogical
    • Zombie Faux-Quivoque (FOE QUA VOKE) – A routine designed for laymen and a conversation starter for mentalists, featuring fair choices and a surprising conclusion.
    • Right-Left Roulette – A suspenseful selection process where the spectator chooses from four coins, leading to a dramatic reveal.
    • Faux-as-I-Faux – A game of influence where the performer and spectator end up with matching coins despite free choices.
  • A coaching clinic in Section Two on utilizing various tools for mentalism routines.

FAUXLOGICAL is a digital PDF, approximately 100 pages in 16-point font. Pre-orders are accepted via PayPal.

(While nothing is foolproof due to human unpredictability, this routine is designed to be self-working when instructions are followed. It can be repeated effectively with careful execution.)
