My fascination with card counting tricks began over 25 years ago when I first witnessed a performance where the number of cards was incorrect. It struck me that this concept could be transformed using BILLS instead!

While preparing for a new act at the 1961 convention, I sought a bill counting effect but struggled to find the perfect routine. It wasn’t until 1974, after reconnecting with Mike Skinner in Monte Carlo, that I discovered Edward Victor’s 11 Card Trick. His performance left a lasting impression, and he generously shared the routine’s outline with me. Once home, I began adapting it using Dollar bills.

Initially, I faced challenges with palming the bills and disposing of them discreetly. I experimented with a handkerchief, a bulldog clip, and a large paperclip as excuses to reach into my pocket. Ultimately, I found the most logical solution: using a WALLET! Within days, I developed a reliable routine that could be performed anywhere—Close-Up, Cabaret, or Stage—without any setup, always ready to go. I have showcased this routine countless times for audiences and have even managed to fool some of the finest magicians! It has proven to be a hit on television in both Holland and England, and I encourage you to practice it diligently.
