HOODOO
Definition: 1. voodoo 2. bad luck 3. a person or thing that brings misfortune
Are you prepared to stir up some chaos?
The iconic Okito Haunted Doll effect returns, reimagined by Mark iNFiNiTi and Mark Traversoni, bringing a chilling twist to your performances.
The Effect
Invite your spectator to think of someone they dislike, claiming you can harness black magic for revenge. Any laughter will quickly fade into an eerie hush as you unveil a sinister coffin box. Inside lies a peculiar voodoo doll. Allow your audience to inspect this strange artifact before placing it flat on your palm. Instruct them to envision something unfortunate befalling their chosen target. The final step is for them to drive a wooden pin into the doll’s heart to initiate the dark spell.
Under your command, the seemingly ‘haunted’ voodoo doll begins to rise on its own, right beneath your spectator’s hand, standing tall and locking eyes with them.
No wires, no threads, no magnets—just a clever secret that will leave them convinced black magic is real.
You can even cover the doll with a glass to isolate it completely. With practice and a steady hand, you can make it stand on one leg before your spectator blows it down, completing the curse.
Important Note: Despite its chilling realism and the reactions it elicits, HOODOO is purely an illusion. It does not bring bad luck, and no one will be harmed—at least, we hope not!
No matter how dark or light your presentation may be, Hoodoo is a spine-tingling effect that’s remarkably simple to execute once you know the secret, always ready to unleash when you’re feeling playful.
