Here’s how it works: The deck is split into two halves, each containing 26 cards from both red and black suits. Participant 1 deals from one half and stops at a freely chosen card, which is then turned over. To add an element of randomness, they deal down to the value of the revealed card.

Participant 2 then takes their pile and deals to the same value as Participant 1’s card. After both cards are set aside, the surrounding cards are revealed, showing no matches. However, the cards chosen by the participants astonishingly match in both color and value!
