Summing Up

An effortless number prediction with a stunning kicker ending. I’ve utilized this routine as an opener for the past three years. It can be performed spontaneously as impromptu mentalism, delivering a powerful impact. Primarily, I use it on stage, requiring only a flip chart, a pen, and a pad of paper. This routine engages the audience by involving 3 to 4 participants, all while they remain seated. It boasts two solid climaxes, with the second one guaranteed to elicit gasps. A true worker!

The Double Blind Drawing Duplication

Experience two truly impossible drawing duplications for the price of one. The performer hands a stack of blank business cards (about 20) and pencils to a spectator, who distributes them to random individuals. Each recipient draws a picture on their card, keeping it face down. The spectator collects the cards, ensuring they remain face down, and returns to the performance area with the drawings.

She freely chooses one drawing to memorize while the performer turns away. This drawing is sealed in an envelope by the spectator. Next, she selects another drawing without looking and seals it in a second envelope. The performer maintains distance, and the remaining drawings are hidden away. Now, she holds two sealed envelopes: one containing a drawing she knows and the other an unknown drawing, all handled solely by her.

The spectator concentrates on the known drawing. The performer explains that this is a blind test, emphasizing that no one in the room knows which drawing she chose. Using his unique skills, he accesses her mental image and draws on a large pad. When the spectator reveals her thought, the performer has drawn the exact same image!

Next comes the double blind test. The spectator has sealed a random drawing in an envelope, and no one, including her, knows its contents. The performer engages her in conversation about her day. For instance, if she mentions having steak and red wine for lunch, he quickly sketches something on his pad. When she opens the double blind envelope, it reveals a picture of a wine glass filled with liquid, prompting gasps from the audience. The performer then reveals that he also drew a glass of wine!

Please note: no stooges, pre-show work, or impression devices are used. The performer never touches the drawings, and the envelopes are completely normal and opaque, allowing for inspection by the on-stage spectator. The only props required are the cards, pencils, envelopes, and a large pad and pen for the reveals. This routine employs classic mentalism techniques to create an extraordinarily deceptive experience.
