A spectator selects a card, which is then lost in the deck. The performer takes a random card, holds it over an open flame, and slowly, burns appear on the card, forming the shape of the spectator’s chosen card. (A variation of this effect is showcased in the trailer below.)

IN THE SMOKE 2

A card is chosen and lost in the deck. The performer holds a different card over an open flame. As it begins to burn, the spectator is invited to hold the card. After extinguishing the flame, the burns reveal the shape of the spectator’s selected card.

SNAP AND BURN

A card is selected and lost in the deck. The performer waves a random card over an open flame. With a final wave, the flame is extinguished, revealing burns in the shape of the spectator’s chosen card on the back of the held card.

BURNING LINK

A spectator selects the Queen of Hearts, which is then lost in the deck. The performer claims to focus on certain cards and pretends to focus on the wrong one—the 7 of Diamonds.
