CAANTASTIC by Abhinav Bothra (PDF + Video) (Instant Download) CARD AT ANY NUMBER ON STEROIDS

For years, magicians have sought to perform the Any Card At Any Number effect using a borrowed and shuffled deck. However, achieving this can be challenging, leading many to opt for a simpler version. The issue with presenting Card At Any Number as a standalone trick is that it can be perceived as mere coincidence or a display of skill, detracting from the magical experience. CAANTASTIC addresses this by creating a powerful moment of coincidence for the audience. This effect occurs not just once or twice, but three times, and by the third instance, any skepticism fades, leaving spectators in awe of true magic.

This package includes two versions: ON THE TABLE and IN THE HANDS. Each version features:

  • Three captivating phases
  • A self-working appearance
  • Involvement of at least two audience members
  • Usability with a borrowed and shuffled deck

Both versions are accessible to beginners while delivering the feel of an expert performance.

ON THE TABLE (requires a flat surface)

Begin by placing a mystery card face down on the table and handing the deck to an audience member. You call out a card, and the participant deals down the cards, stopping when they feel compelled. Remarkably, they stop at your called card. To eliminate any notion of coincidence, this is repeated with another audience member and a different card. In the final phase, they name a number, revealing the mate of the mystery card on the table at that position.

IN THE HANDS (ideal for walkaround performances)

You display a card in your hand and ask an audience member to name a number. The cards are dealt into their cupped hands to that number, revealing the mate of your displayed card. Next, they select a card from the dealt pile, memorize it, and place it back into the deck, which is then shuffled. You pretend to memorize the order, and when the selected card is called out, you reveal its position. For the final phase, a photo of a card is taken with a borrowed phone, and the card is lost in the deck. Despite the shuffle, the audience member names a number, and astonishingly, the card corresponding to that number matches the one in their photo.

This product includes an 11-page PDF and a 16-minute 36-second video.
