These notebooks are truly legendary.
Bruce Cervon’s Castle Notebooks represent an invaluable resource in the world of magic.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles to learn from Dai Vernon, Bruce Cervon meticulously documented the insider magic techniques shared by the Professor and others. He also recorded his own original creations, many of which were reserved for his professional performances. Over the years, these notebooks expanded significantly, and while Cervon kept them closely guarded, their reputation grew among magic’s elite.
From these notebooks emerged the content for five of Cervon’s magic books and three volumes of The Vernon Chronicles. However, this barely scratches the surface. The Castle Notebooks also include material Bruce intended for future publications about Vernon and himself, extensive notes on card cheating techniques (much of which was passed on by Vernon), unpublished insights from magic luminaries, and Bruce’s own professional routines. The sheer volume and quality of this content is impressive, spanning over 1,500 pages.
Bruce Cervon’s Castle Notebooks are a treasure trove for close-up magic enthusiasts, especially from the golden era of the Magic Castle. They contain a wealth of tricks, sleights, and secrets that Cervon kept exclusive for years, many of which remain ahead of contemporary magic. Honoring Bruce’s wish for this information to remain special, his wife, Linda Lipps Cervon, in collaboration with L&L Publishing, is releasing these notebooks in a facsimile hardcover edition, with each page meticulously scanned from the original handwritten notes.
