Imagine pulling a sealed envelope from your pocket. This envelope has no hidden compartments or flaps. Inside lies a single prediction: one card, sealed away. Regardless of what the spectator does or says, the outcome remains unchanged. It’s fate. It’s predetermined.

You hand the spectator a deck of cards for them to examine and shuffle at their leisure.

Confident in your prediction, you tear open the envelope to reveal a face-down card. You’re fully committed. To enhance the fairness, you flip the card over, revealing its identity. They witness the future.

Once they finish shuffling, you instruct the spectator to deal cards one by one onto your left hand. At any moment, they can stop and place the next card face down on your right hand.

When the time feels right—when their intuition guides them—they stop dealing.

They place the next card face down on your right hand, leaving just two cards: your revealed prediction and their chosen card. The suspense builds. How could they possibly match? They’ve examined and shuffled the deck. Yet, when their card is turned over, it perfectly matches your prediction.
