A captivating and logical take on the classic bill in lemon effect.

The LemoNegg Routine:

A spectator is invited on stage for an imaginative supermarket adventure. A borrowed bill is signed or its serial number noted, then placed in a purse handed to the spectator for safekeeping.

You reveal that you’ve made a prediction about what the spectator will envision purchasing. A sealed brown grocery bag is shown, and the spectator is asked to look away while you display the predicted item—a visible egg—to the audience. The egg is returned to the bag, resealed, and placed on a table where it remains in view.

Once the spectator turns back, you introduce a set of cards depicting various supermarket items. As you reveal each card, the audience sees that they all feature “EGG” images, prompting laughter as you name different items. The spectator is invited to call out “stop” when they wish, and their seemingly random selection is revealed to be a card showing a big yellow lemon!

To everyone’s astonishment, you open the grocery bag, and a lemon rolls out! The bag is shown to be completely empty, earning a round of applause.

You then ask the spectator to deduct the lemon’s cost from the bill in the purse, claiming that the exact change has magically appeared. However, when the purse is opened, it’s empty! You explain that the lemon they chose is valued at $50 (or the amount of the borrowed bill).

Just when the audience thinks they’ve encountered an exorbitantly priced lemon, you clarify that the true value lies within. You cut open the lemon, revealing the actual borrowed bill inside!
