What will he teach?

The lecture will kick off with a typical close-up performance, followed by detailed explanations of the effects and the reasoning behind their use. Lonnie will showcase individual tricks and routines he has crafted and utilized in real-world settings over the years. He will teach his version of the Bill Switch, perform and explain the gypsy thread trick using dental floss, and present a stand-up chop cup routine. Additionally, he will share a bent penny handling that he always carries for strolling situations and a sponge ball routine featuring a never-before-released move that is sure to deceive even seasoned magicians.

Lonnie will also introduce his comedy card routine involving a live animal trap, a routine he has not previously disclosed to any other group of magicians. This versatile routine can be performed up close, on stage, or in a platform setting. He plans to discuss his techniques for performing close-up magic in various strolling environments, including restaurants, banquets, and trade shows.

Who is he?

Lonnie is a professional magician based in Texas, recognized for his talent with two awards for best close-up magic from the Texas Association of Magicians Convention. He has lectured at numerous magic clubs nationwide and has performed at the renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood. Lonnie has five instructional DVDs available through Penguin Magic. His approach to the Bill Switch is featured in John Lovick’s book, ‘Switch, Unfolding the 0 Bill Change,’ where John praised it as one of his favorite methods.
