What Will He Teach?

Marc will cover stand-up magic suitable for both stage and club performances, focusing on corporate events and family entertainment. His presentation emphasizes material creation, routine structure, scripting, and additional resources. The session will kick off with a full performance as if for a lay audience, featuring routines from his working repertoire, including solo acts, audience participation, and mentalism. Highlights include the Bill In Lemon, which serves as a recurring theme throughout the show, and a “running bit” with the Magic Square that enhances the show’s impact. Classic routines, such as Al Baker’s Card In Chewing Gum, are updated with innovative twists, while a captivating Cards Up The Sleeve routine features unique nuances and a strong finish. Who Is He?

Marc DeSouza, a Philadelphia native, boasts an esteemed international reputation in the magic community. As a performer, inventor, author, lecturer, and motivational speaker, his talents have been showcased across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America.

With over five decades of performing, Marc has earned more than 50 awards at regional, national, and international levels. He is a two-time winner of the Society of American Magicians National Stage Magic Competition and the first magician to win the Silver Medal in both Stage and Close-Up categories. His accolades include being a three-time IBM Gold Medal Finalist and representing the S.A.M. at the prestigious F.I.S.M. competition in 1997.

Marc has also contributed to the magic community through various media, scripting and performing for Harper Collins’ CD-ROM entitled MAGIC: An Insider’s View, and releasing instructional videos and books. His compilation DVD set, Masterworks of Conjuring, showcases over 30 years of his work.

As a magical consultant, Marc has worked on successful Off-Broadway shows and national tours, blending magic with marketing to enhance corporate messaging.
