Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms today. MentalGram offers a set of three unique methods that enable you to execute mentalism effects using your spectator’s social media on their device. These techniques are completely impromptu, highly practical, and incredibly easy to perform.

Anchor: Your spectator calls “stop” while you openly display their Instagram feed on their phone. You then read their mind to reveal the picture they stopped at, which can also be presented as a prediction.

Backfire: As you show their Instagram feed scrolling, they can scroll in any direction and stop at any point. You can either read their mind or reveal a prediction of where they would stop.

Treadmill: This stage technique involves your spectator watching their Instagram feed on their phone. They focus on one picture, and you reveal specific details about it.

While Instagram is my preferred platform for these techniques, they can also be adapted for Facebook and Twitter. I will provide various routines and handling tips to ensure you feel confident performing these techniques from day one.

Simply approach any spectator, borrow their phone (these techniques work with any smartphone, including iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone; however, I advise against using a Blackberry due to potential issues). Ask them to open their Instagram or any other social media, and watch as you read their mind or make predictions.
