Discover the Hypnotic Card Effect by Perna
In this innovative project, Perna unveils his groundbreaking two-phase amnesia card effect, focusing on hypnotic card techniques.
Picture this: the magician presents a deck of cards to illustrate the concept of hypnosis. They invite a volunteer to participate and ask them to name any card, such as the Jack of Clubs.
The magician places the chosen card face down on the table and guides the participant through a (pseudo) hypnotic induction. They suggest that when the participant picks up the card, they will perceive it as completely blank, as if it has vanished. Upon awakening, the participant lifts the card, and their astonished reaction convinces the audience that the card has truly disappeared before their eyes.
Next, the participant is put back into a simulated sleep state. The magician suggests that the card will reappear for them to see. After awakening once more, the participant discovers that the previously blank card is now fully visible.
In the second phase, the participant thinks of another card from the deck. The magician explains that they will retrieve this thought-of card, and intriguingly, the participant will not remember this moment while it occurs. The audience witnesses the retrieval, yet the participant remains unaware of the event.
This effect requires no instant stooging or clever wordplay; the audience sees everything unfold in real-time.
This performance is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in learning the art of hypnosis!
