Alexander: The Crystal Seer
In this captivating performance, the magician presents a unique challenge where one card stands out among 52. The spectator is tasked with identifying its location.
After providing a few hints, the spectator selects a number and records their choice on a business card or piece of paper.
Next, they refer to a list of numbers paired with playing cards on the reverse side of the business card, jotting down their selection.
The performer then offers the spectator the option to stick with their chosen number or to pick a different one entirely.
As the cards are counted to the selected number, the spectator is invited to complete the count themselves.
The first surprise reveals that all the cards are blank, except for one. The second twist is that the only printed card corresponds to the chosen number, and the final revelation is that this card appears on the back!
- No forcing involved; the spectator has complete freedom in their number selection. (While there is a set of preferred numbers subtly integrated into the performance, it remains cleverly concealed.)
- No Rough & Smooth technique used; spectators can keep the cards if they wish.
This innovative blank deck concept draws inspiration from Craig Petty’s Quantum Deck.
