No jacket is needed to carry numerous items! The effects involving playing cards make it perfect for modern mentalists, magicians transitioning into mentalism, cartomancers, and experienced performers looking for spontaneous demonstrations.
Here’s what you can expect: (not including the hidden gems of wisdom sprinkled throughout the book!)
Fortunes Told
“From the days of old when fortunes were told…” This effect allows you to delve into the heart and mind of your spectator, revealing intimate details about their past and present while leaving them with a mysterious souvenir that predicts their future. Using just three business cards and a pen, Fortunes Told employs a powerful mentalism concept with a relatable presentation. The handling is straightforward, requiring no prior fortune-telling skills!
Pocket Ouija
“I did not believe the Devil knew my thoughts until he used my own hands to show me…” In this effect, twelve cards are arranged face up in a circle on a table, with an empty card box placed in the center. Participants lightly place their fingertips on the box, which eerily moves across the table to a card that was merely glanced at. This hands-off effect requires only a borrowed deck of cards and three or more spectators, with no gimmicks or setup needed.
Rhythm Of Life
“Thousands of years ago in the caves of North Africa, before language was created or gods were thought of…” This ancient form of communication is revived as your spectator successfully transmits unspoken thoughts to you. This engaging and beautiful presentation leaves your spectator inspired, along with a small piece of art they’ll cherish.
The Art Of Knowing
(This standout piece includes video instruction!)
Each of three spectators receives a blank business card to draw on. After mixing the cards, you place them face down in a row. By holding your hand over the first card, you reveal personal details about the artist, accurately describing the drawing before turning the card over to confirm your insight! This process repeats for each drawing, with no markings, gimmicks, or setup required. It’s completely clean and can be performed with more than three participants using just blank business cards and a pen!
The Gift Of Second Sight
Temporarily grant a spectator the ability to perceive the impossible. They turn away while another participant selects and memorizes a card, which is then returned to the deck. After a moment of concentration, the gifted spectator deals through the cards, instinctively stopping at the chosen card, despite having no prior knowledge of its identity or position in the deck. The deck remains normal and can be examined.
