Introducing Family Values 2.0
Family Values is BACK, better and easier than ever before! We present to you Family Values 2.0, crafted by Mark Elsdon, which merges two exceptional effects into a single unforgettable experience.
This routine combines the best elements of Heirloom and the Phil Deck, resulting in a straightforward yet incredibly impactful performance.
Here’s the captivating storyline:
The magician reveals an antique box of playing cards from the early 1900s, claiming they once belonged to the “Atkins family.” Inside, there’s a worn photograph featuring Frank, his wife Mary, and their daughter Eve. Tragically, Frank was known for his vices—drinking, gambling, and womanizing. He fancied himself a fortune teller, convinced he could predict the future. The performer poses the question, “Have you ever heard the phrase ‘your card is marked?’” Frank believed everyone had a “card,” inscribing the names of family and friends on the backs of his playing cards. The audience member is invited to select a card with a random name alongside a random card from the deck.
The performer continues, “Legend has it that a fire consumed the Atkins home. Fortunately, Mary and Eve escaped unscathed, but Frank perished in the blaze. It’s said that his spirit lingers within these cards, possessing the ability to foresee the future.” To the audience’s astonishment, the photo reveals Frank holding a playing card that matches the spectator’s selection! Flipping the photo over uncovers a shocking confession from Mary, admitting that she killed Frank. The name chosen by the spectator? MARY.
