In the world of magic, many effects showcase a chosen card as the only one in a deck while the rest remain blank. So, what sets this deck apart?

This unique effect surpasses all others! No forcing, no switches—just one deck!

Basic Effect: The magician presents a deck of cards, face down on the table. A spectator is invited to name any card from the 52 available (with complete freedom—no forcing involved). They can change their mind as often as they like. The magician explains that the cards are secretly marked on the backs, allowing them to locate any card. As they spread the cards, the magician points to one card, claiming, “Your card is under that one.” After cutting the deck at that point, the top card is revealed, showing one card below it face up—it’s the spectator’s freely chosen card, while all others remain face down! The magician humorously states, “I’m so glad you picked that card; otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do…” Upon turning over the cards, it’s revealed that all faces are blank, leaving only the spectator’s selected card visible!

This effect uses just one deck, which is on the table before the selection. The deck contains 52 cards (no extras), and it resets with just a few cuts. No sticky cards are involved, ensuring total freedom of choice. Plus, it’s easy to perform!

Mike Danata’s Magic Studio holds rights to similar effects, such as Wayne Dobson’s “Devastation,” but this version is notably cleaner.
