A small piece of paper is torn from a menu, where a participant writes a question on the blank side and folds it. The mentalist uses a deck of cards as a display tray for the folded paper, which is then returned to the participant. The cards are shuffled by the spectator, who selects five cards before returning them to the box.

At this point, the mentalist believes everything is complete! The folded paper is burned, and the mentalist reveals the spectator’s question by interpreting the five chosen cards. The clever twist? The mentalist has seamlessly switched the paper for an exact duplicate, allowing them to read the question without any visible moves. The special card box handles the entire process! The participant simply drops their billet onto the card box, and while it remains in view, the billet is automatically switched. As the cards are removed and replaced in the box, the mentalist openly reveals the message!
