Levitation refers to the ability to suspend an object against the force of gravity without any physical contact. This phenomenon can occur through various methods, such as jets of gas that push upward, similar to air hockey, or downward forces, as seen in helicopters and hovercraft. Under optimal conditions, a sphere can be stably levitated in an air stream without the need for a control system.
