Who is he?
Jack Kent Tillar boasts a remarkable career featuring over 1,200 films and TV shows, earning accolades such as an Emmy and an Academy Award. Renowned in the magic community for the “Blister” effect, Jack’s passions extend to his family, music composition, mental magic, and the ocean. A former Naval Officer, he has always lived near water. His musical journey began at age four, thanks to his mother’s dedication to piano lessons during her pregnancy.
At nine, he was captivated by magic at Bert Wheeler’s Hollywood Magic, and by eleven, he was engrossed in the Tarbell Course, learning not just magic but stagecraft and theater. By thirteen, he was a school stage manager, and at fourteen, he performed as a TV magician. His high school years were marked by a fascination with the radio show Dunninger, leading him to collaborate on a two-person act.
Jack pursued a degree in Naval Science at USC, which limited his options in music and cinema, prompting him to study Psychology to enhance his directing and writing skills. He produced various shows and festivals, but the Korean conflict interrupted his early career. Eventually, he began his journey at CBS, driven by his passion for performance and storytelling.
