8 Effects and a Sleight by Michael Kociolek
This collection features card routines that can be executed with a standard deck. Only one effect requires an additional card, while five of the effects are completely impromptu and can be performed with a borrowed deck.
You Know Better – Three spectators each select a card from a shuffled deck. Using their intuition, they place their cards randomly into different sections of the deck. In a stunning twist, they all successfully find the matches to their cards, taking full credit for this seemingly impossible feat.
Off-Centers – This advanced yet highly deceptive center dealing demonstration requires practice, but the results will be rewarding.
Du-et – In this effect, the spectators themselves perform the magic by locating their lost selections in an impressively improbable manner, all without the magician touching the deck.
Bold Collection – A unique interpretation of Roy Walton’s classic “The Collectors” effect. The four kings are shown openly, and then magically, three chosen cards appear one by one, face down between the four face-up kings, which never come near the deck.
Plan B – Using your skills of observation, you seemingly identify three spectators’ selections based on their “tells.” When it appears you’ve failed, you will use your magical abilities to turn the situation around in an impossible manner.
In Between – A refreshed version of Michal’s first marketed effect, where a card that exists only in the spectator’s mind appears sandwiched between two lost selections that inspired that thought.
In Oil, Under Water – A two-phase oil and water routine performed with just eight cards, where the mixing and separation of red and black cards occurs right in the spectators’ hands.
Colors – A remarkable hands-off prediction where you accurately know the outcome of a genuinely random game, as well as the card chosen by the spectator in an impressively fair manner.
MK Simple Shift Variation – A technical variation of Edward Marlo’s classic “Simple Shift.” It’s simple to execute yet highly deceptive and enjoyable to perform.
