Experience a Miraculous Mentalism Trick

Prepare to be amazed by this extraordinary feat of psychic entertainment! This mentalism routine utilizes a standard deck of playing cards, which can even be borrowed from your audience.

Your spectator will shuffle the cards as they wish and deal a selection onto the table, completely at their discretion. The performer can turn their back or leave the room entirely, ensuring no influence over the cards. The spectator then chooses any number of cards from the pile and places them into a card box, keeping them hidden. The remaining cards are shuffled and split into two piles, which don’t need to be even. The rest of the deck is held in the spectator’s left hand, while they remember the bottom card of one of the piles with their right hand. This pile is then placed on top of the deck in their left hand. The spectator freely deals any number of cards from their hand onto the remaining pile on the table, shuffles the rest, and places them on top. The deck is squared, and the psychic is called back into the room.

Despite the thorough shuffling, the psychic skillfully deals from the top of the deck, connecting with the spectator’s mind. They stop at a specific card, for instance, a ten, and reveal that the spectator’s chosen card is ten cards deeper in the deck — and it truly is!

This performance requires no setups, stacks, or cyclical rotations. The cards can be borrowed and are not marked. There are no assistants, peeks, mirrors, gaffs, or electronics involved. Instructions can be shared with the spectator via phone or recorded. No sleight of hand is necessary, and the deck can be examined both before and after the performance.

All you need to create this astonishing effect is a deck of cards (which can be borrowed), a spectator, and Bob Hummer’s ingenious routine.
