Here’s how it unfolds:

A participant receives two slips of paper. On one, they write a single desire, such as “BMW,” while the other remains blank. The slips are folded, mixed, and held in each fist by the participant.

The mentalist, however, knows the desire and identifies the blank slip!

As the slips are mixed, the participant remains unaware of which is which. Yet, the mentalist successfully reveals the “emptiness” of the blank slip, proving their skill.

In a dramatic finale, the written slip is burned to ash. A pinch of ash is then rubbed on the mentalist’s skin, revealing the desire written in the same handwriting as the original!
