Edge of Reality by Ray Noble
This captivating book showcases mind-bending effects designed for maximum spectator engagement and impact.
Five Engaging Effects:
Back to Back: In this effect, both the performer and a spectator stand back to back, each with a drawing board. The spectator draws an object of their choice, unseen by the performer, who astonishingly duplicates the drawing.
Forgotten Memories: Lead your spectator on a nostalgic journey through their past. They find themselves in a busy hotel lobby, choosing a room for themselves and their future partner. A twist of fate brings them back to the present, where a ghostly message appears on a business card held in their hands.
Focus: As a spectator scribbles chaotically, they concentrate on a playing card, word, or symbol. Gradually, the intended thought comes into focus, emerging from the chaos. This routine can be performed as a compelling mentalism act or a mysterious séance, with options for a serious or eerie presentation.
Fear Not: A spectator writes down a fear on a business card and holds a pendulum over it. As they visualize their fear disappearing, they turn over the card to discover that their fear has vanished.
The Draw: After shuffling a deck of cards, a spectator cuts to a card, say the five of clubs. They then count down five cards from the top and remove one without revealing it. The performer, with a pad and pen, asks the spectator to focus on their card. When revealed, the drawn card matches the performer’s sketch perfectly.
