Effect

The magician showcases a blue deck of cards, clearly a standard 52-card set. The deck is laid face up on the table, and from this point on, the magician will not touch it again. A spectator is invited to cut the deck at any point and place the two halves side by side. They then choose one pile, while the other is set aside. The spectator deals the cards from their chosen pile face up, stopping at any card they desire, making a completely free choice. This selected card is then placed away from the remaining cards. The magician emphasizes that the spectator’s choice was indeed free and that their card is not a duplicate of any other blue-backed cards. However, when the selected card is revealed, the spectator is astonished to find it has a red back and their name (or any chosen message) written on it. This revelation leads them to question the true nature of their free will.
