WHAT IS HERMES? When it comes to mentalism, few methods rival the astonishment generated by a two-person coding system. A well-executed two-person act can mesmerize any audience, and the best part is that it requires no props and can be performed spontaneously. As long as you can communicate with your partner, you can captivate your audience anywhere, anytime.
EASY TO LEARN AND MASTER Phedon recognized the immense potential of performing with his wife, Flora, and set out to create the ultimate two-person coding system. With Flora being a non-mentalist, the system needed to be straightforward and easy to memorize. Those familiar with Phedon’s previous works know he aims for perfection. His routines not only appear authentic but feel genuine as well. Unable to find a system that met his rigorous standards, Phedon decided to develop his own.
It’s essential to note that ‘Hermes’ was initially crafted for personal use, designed to be easily taught to Flora and memorable enough to be nearly unforgettable. Over the years, Phedon has meticulously refined ‘Hermes’ through countless performances, both casual and professional. He considers it one of his most impactful creations, establishing a strong reputation for both himself and Flora.
This system might have remained a personal secret if not for a brief mention in the footnotes of ‘Orpheus,’ set to be published in late 2023. After some persuasion from his proofreader, Ian ‘Rasp’ Cheetham, Phedon agreed to share it. While this system won’t replicate the Evasons’ work, its potential is limited only by the performer. The primary goal of ‘Hermes’ is to provide a versatile range of possibilities while remaining easy to learn.
“Those who know me understand that I’m not a performer; I’m often seen as an ‘Armchair Mentalist.’ However, I’ve long been intrigued by two-person codes, collaborating with my close friend, Michael Murray, and enjoying the process. My lack of confidence previously held me back. Recently, I felt a shift within me, an excitement ignited by Phedon introducing me to Hermes—a simple yet powerful two-person coding system.”– Ian ‘Rasp’ Cheetham
SO WHAT’S NEW? In ‘Hermes,’ you’ll discover how to code Numbers, Colors, Denomination Values, Types of Jewelry, and more. However, the book’s main focus lies in the unique information that can be transmitted alongside these codes. The psychic aspect is the core of this system, particularly the section on ‘Sending Questions and Concerns,’ which showcases the system’s true value.
Imagine sending a simple sentence or question to your partner, enabling them to accurately identify your participant’s concerns or goals. This allows them to address the issues in a truly mystifying manner. Best of all, this experience is as beautiful to witness as it is to perform. Phedon not only teaches the system comprehensively but also shares invaluable tips gained from years of experience, helping to prevent miscommunication and ensuring that demonstrations feel authentic.
“Wow, amazing stuff. Simple and effective coding system, but the gold is in sending concerns. That is phenomenal. I’ve never seen anything like it. This is the easiest cold read I’ve ever encountered, perfectly describing any thought question. Genius. Just verbally deciphering the code is an effective reading, and I believe this mirrors how real psychics would respond—getting specific feelings and answers without knowing the exact question.”– Madison Hagler
