Jim Steinmeyer Masterclass

We are excited to announce that Jim Steinmeyer will be the instructor for our August Masterclass. Renowned in the world of magic, Steinmeyer has crafted illusions for both stage and screen, contributing to some of Broadway’s most unforgettable magical moments. His collaborations with legends like Orson Welles, Doug Henning, and David Copperfield have solidified his status as a revolutionary figure in magic. His “Impuzzibilities” series showcases his remarkable self-working close-up magic. As an accomplished author, Steinmeyer has written influential works such as Hiding the Elephant, Device & Illusion, and The Last Greatest Magician in the World.

“Which comes first, the music or the lyrics?” This question often perplexes magicians as they navigate the creative process of invention and design. This Masterclass is dedicated to enhancing your performances by cultivating your own inventive process, allowing you to flex your creative muscles in magic. It emphasizes innovation and personal growth, skills that will benefit you throughout your magical journey.

Jim Steinmeyer is exceptionally qualified to lead this Masterclass. In this Masterclass, Jim shifts the focus from grand stage illusions to the magic that resonates with you personally. The Masterclass will consist of two 90-minute sessions. The first will concentrate on “Innovating and Developing Tricks,” emphasizing the tricks themselves. The second session will cover “Devising and Writing Presentations,” highlighting the importance of integrated routines that enhance the performer’s delivery. This structure allows for a comprehensive exploration of both the “music” and the “lyrics” of magic.
