Who Is He?

Based in Los Angeles, John Lovick is a multifaceted performer, writer, and theater director. Under his alter ego, Handsome Jack, he regularly performs at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, where he has been nominated eleven consecutive years for Parlour Magician of the Year. John is widely recognized in the magic community as the author of SWITCH: Unfolding the 100 Bill Change and for his insightful product reviews and performer profiles featured in MAGIC and Genii magazines. He created “The Reparation,” a best-selling Torn and Restored Card effect, and co-authored The Paper Engine. His works include Experience and MAYHEW, focusing on the magic of Jon Allen and Steve Mayhew, respectively. John has performed across the United States and lectured for magic organizations in Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia.
