The magician invites a spectator to choose a number between 5 and 15, which becomes the lucky number. The spectator shuffles the deck and reveals about half of the cards to the magician. The magician then concentrates on a specific card. The spectator secretly deals a chosen number of cards onto the table and removes some of them. These discarded cards are returned to the deck, and the spectator deals down a number of cards equal to the lucky number. They then discard every second card until only one remains in their hand. Finally, the magician reveals the thought-of card from the deck, and when both cards are shown, they match perfectly.
