Last Laugh by Mark Elsdon

Last Laugh is Mark Elsdon’s ingenious twist on the “stranger card” effect. Two decks of cards, each with distinct backs, are introduced. One deck is taken out of its box, displayed as completely normal, and shuffled. Your spectator selects a card from this deck without looking and places it in their pocket.

You announce your intention to cut to the matching card from the other deck. Your audience will be amazed as you skillfully cut to both jokers. The fun escalates as you begin to reveal joker after joker from the deck. As your spectators catch on to the trick, they realize they are left with a complete deck of jokers. Just when they lower their guard, you deliver the surprise. Yes, every card is a joker… except for one card left face down on the table.

For the first time, your spectator reveals their card. The tension is palpable as they reach over to examine the card on the table. It’s a perfect match!
