LINK is my adaptation of Corinda’s “De Profundis” routine found in “Thirteen Steps to Mentalism,” Step Four (predictions), Pages 105 and 106. This adaptation allows LINK to be performed with ANY ROPE, requiring no special apparatus or gimmicks, and it has a setup time of under 30 seconds!

The book details the straightforward handling and methodology, featuring over fifteen different routines that utilize this method, which is guaranteed to succeed. This is a stage routine.

Within the 138 pages, you’ll discover numerous ideas for presenting predictions, whether hanging from the rope (in an envelope or box) or set aside.

The routine involves inviting two spectators on stage to participate in a telepathy experiment. They hold a length of rope, keeping it taut while facing each other. The performer counts from one to ten, instructing them to relax and focus on a number that resonates with them.

After counting, both spectators reveal the same number simultaneously, much to the audience’s surprise. This part of the experiment can be repeated as desired.

Next, the performer removes the rope, aiming to establish a direct mental link between the spectators without any physical object. They hold hands while focusing on names of cities, and upon naming their chosen city, they again reveal the same answer, surprising the audience once more.

Finally, the performer takes the experiment a step further by having the spectators stand at opposite ends of the stage. One becomes the sender of a thought while the other is the receiver. The sender transmits their birth month, and after the performer names all the months, the receiver correctly identifies the month, confirming the connection.

For added impact, all predictions can be placed in an envelope visible throughout the performance.
