Nick Conticello – Australian Aces
This e-book presents three captivating effects centered around a unique concept.
1. Australian Aces: The magician shuffles a deck and hands it to a spectator, who cuts a portion of the cards. The spectator names any Ace, spells its name, and performs an Australian Shuffle. Remarkably, the last card they hold is the Ace they named! They then spell “Ace,” revealing the matching colored Ace, and finally spell the suit, revealing the remaining Aces alongside the spelled cards.
2. Hands-On Australian Aces: This variant requires some memory work but allows the performer to handle the cards, making it quicker and easier to execute.
3. An Australian Transformation: A visually stunning version where the performer shows twelve court cards and produces the named Ace, followed by the other three Aces. This packet trick uses standard false counts (not included in the instructions) and requires no gaffs.
All three effects are based on a concept detailed in Potpourri 3. A simple stack is necessary, but a method allowing the audience to shuffle the deck is included. Versions 1 and 2 do not require sleight of hand.
