What is it? PIN is an innovative chair test that eliminates the need for actual chairs. Participants believe they are making free choices, yet they ultimately fall under the performer’s influence through a cleverly crafted prediction. This effect is not only straightforward but also enriched with thoughtful details that enhance the entertainment value.

The freedom of choice is a refreshing departure from many recent chair tests. Each participant opens their own envelope, adding to the experience and ensuring that the routine transcends merely selecting a chair.

Laurence aimed to create a routine that:

• Centers the audience and assistants, allowing them to divine your PIN number while you remain largely passive.
• Is as hands-off as possible; after writing names on the envelopes, you won’t need to touch anything else.
• Avoids numbered envelopes or any numbers during the routine, reserving them only for the Final Reveal.
• Utilizes plain envelopes, free from gimmicks or markings.
• Excludes secret writing techniques.
• Gives assistants complete freedom in choosing their envelopes and initial positions.
• Enables the audience to shuffle the assistants, with the possibility of switching places.
• Allows assistants to open their envelopes themselves during the Final Reveal.
