A COMPLETE SELL OUT AT THE BLACKPOOL MAGIC CONVENTION 2013!
Pablo Amira is celebrated for his straightforward approach to mentalism, and when he presented Magicbox with a unique concept, we were eager to collaborate. After months of development, we are thrilled to introduce “Poker Face”. This innovative utility item for modern mentalists features five custom poker chips. Instantly recognizable, poker chips are ideal for effects centered around reading and prediction, while their connection to playing cards opens up a myriad of creative possibilities.
Poker Face includes five custom poker chips, a drawstring carrying pouch, and a booklet detailing various routines crafted by Pablo Amira and renowned mentalist Michael Murray.
Featured Routines:
CHIPrediction by Pablo Amira
Effect: A spectator receives a small object without seeing it. They embark on an imaginary casino journey, selecting a color, suit, and value, which together form the name of a specific playing card. When they reveal their hand, they find a poker chip featuring their chosen card!
Viva Cabaret by Michael Murray
Effect: To showcase his people-reading abilities, a spectator is given three poker chips to mix and place into different pockets unseen. The mentalist then removes a banknote and asks the spectator to secretly note the value of one chip. Using body language, the mentalist identifies the value of the held chip, and astonishingly, the locations of the other two chips are predicted on the back of the banknote.
Poker Will by Pablo Amira
Effect: This routine is Pablo’s direct take on the “Free Will” effect, utilizing familiar objects (two variations explained).
Sure Bet by Michael Murray
Effect: The mentalist lays out five poker chips with their values hidden and proposes a simple game. After writing down his thoughts on a business card, the spectator mixes the chips. They take turns selecting chips, with the spectator even choosing first and selecting three chips. Despite this fairness, the mentalist ends up with the higher total value, and his predictions reveal the exact outcome of the game.
ChiCAAN by Michael Murray
Effect: The mentalist presents a deck of playing cards alongside four poker chips. A spectator selects a card, which is noted and returned to the deck, untouched by the performer. The spectator then randomly picks one poker chip. Remarkably, the name of their freely chosen card is printed on the back of the chip, and the chip’s value indicates the card’s position in the deck!
