Actor

Rob Zabrecky has made his mark as a television actor, featuring in shows like CSI: NY, The Mentalist, and Brothers & Sisters, as well as several episodes of MTV’s ROOM 401. He honed his craft at Theatre West, participating in adaptations of classics like The Twilight Zone, and has appeared in numerous short films and commercials for brands such as Comcast, Denny’s, and Kia.

Magician

Transitioning from music to magic, Zabrecky has captivated audiences across the United States and Japan with his unique blend of dark humor and mentalism. A regular performer at the Magic Castle since 2002, he co-founded the quirky magic trio, The Unholy Three, known for their avant-garde approach to magic. His performances have earned him recognition as one of the top five magicians at the Magic Castle’s Parlour of Prestidigitation in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

As the co-creator and host of Who’s Hoo, an online interview series for the Academy of Magical Arts, Zabrecky has engaged with over 85 notable magicians, including co-founder Milt Larsen. He occasionally collaborates with the performance art group The Mums.

In February 2009, Zabrecky performed for Michael Jackson at a private birthday party for Blanket, just months before Jackson’s passing. Amidst his act, a paparazzi helicopter interrupted, prompting a humorous moment as Jackson’s children covered their heads with cloths until the noise subsided.

In 2010, he showcased his talents at New York’s longest-running Off-Broadway magic show, Monday Night Magic. Magic Magazine praised him in 2011 for his captivating performances, blending elements of psychological thrillers and humor. Currently, he serves as a primary Seance Medium in the Houdini Seance Room at the Magic Castle.

Musician

As the lead vocalist for Possum Dixon, Zabrecky gained prominence in the early 1990s Silver Lake music scene. He collaborated with notable artists like Beck and produced the band’s final album, New Sheets, in 1998. Following the band’s breakup, he performed with various groups, including the Los Angeles art rock band Human Hands, and shared the stage with Maria McKee at a Hollywood fundraiser in 2010.

Auctioneer

Trained by Bonhams auction house in the late 1990s, Zabrecky has also portrayed an auctioneer on television shows such as “Brothers & Sisters” and “The Mentalist.”
