Ben Harris’s Signature Effect: A Classic in Mentalism
Discover one of Ben Harris’s most cherished effects, first introduced in 1987. This captivating routine gained immense popularity during his lectures from 1987 to 1989 and was a standout at major magic conventions, consistently selling out.
The performance begins with a small envelope, which is signed on both sides by a spectator and placed prominently on the table. A card is then freely chosen from the deck and signed by the spectator. After the spectator inserts their card back into the deck and counts the cards, it mysteriously disappears, leaving only 51 cards behind.
In a surprising twist, the envelope, which has remained in full view throughout the performance, is opened with empty hands, revealing the signed card inside.
This effect showcases a brilliant method that requires no palming, ensuring the card is genuinely inside the signed envelope. It’s important to note that this is distinct from the well-known effect “Consignment.” Solid Gold Easy Action predates it by over two decades and also requires no palming.
