In the 1980s, Martin Breese, a budding magic dealer, began publishing a free magazine to keep his clients informed about new magic releases and the vibrant magic scene beyond London. This initiative evolved into Sorcerer Magazine, a comprehensive publication that captured the essence of the magic community during that era.

This digital edition merges all issues of The Newsletter and Sorcerer Magazine, providing a fascinating glimpse into the history of magic in 1980s London and a timeline of Martin’s flourishing magic business.

Each issue featured original tricks from renowned magicians and contributions from notable figures such as Stephen Tucker and David Britland. Other contributors included Peter McDonald, Hiruhito Hirata, Max Maven, Harry Seed, Ken de Courcy, Basil Horwitz, Bill Zavis, John Mendoza, Paul Hallas, Michael Austin, Reinhard Müller, Bob Quilietti, Paul Brignal, Al Smith, Amos Hudini, Simon Dixon, Solyl Kundu, Alex East, Jim Adams, Henrique, John Jarvis, Nigel Backhurst, and even Martin Breese himself.

The magazine also included reprints of valuable material from Eddie Joseph and Edward Victor. With original copies becoming rare, this digital version of The Newsletter and Sorcerer is sure to be a welcome addition for many. This edition faithfully reproduces the original issues, complete with typographic quirks as they were originally published.
