The presentation unfolds as follows: The performer notes thoughts on paper, which an audience member then pockets. A deck of cards is passed around for spectators to examine and shuffle. One volunteer selects ten cards and shuffles them thoroughly.

With his back turned, the performer instructs the volunteer to distribute nine cards to different audience members, keeping one card for themselves. Spectators are asked to remember their cards and conceal them.

Facing the audience, the performer asks all ten participants to stand and concentrate on their cards. As he names the cards, spectators sit down one by one, leaving only one person standing.

The final spectator reads aloud the earlier note, revealing the predicted card. The spectator then displays their card, confirming it matches the prediction!
