Three Mind Miracles by Devin Knight – eBook – DOWNLOAD
This eBook features three astonishing effects by Devin Knight that bring you as close to genuine mind reading as possible.
TAROT FOLD TOLD A standard Tarot Deck is displayed and handed to a participant for shuffling. Four individuals are invited to select the top five cards from the shuffled deck and arrange them face up on a table, all while you remain across the room and cannot see the cards. Each participant simply thinks of one card, without speaking or writing anything down. They may all think of the same card or different ones; it doesn’t matter. You begin to receive impressions of animals and ask anyone thinking of a card featuring an animal to close their eyes and visualize it. Next, you gather impressions of people and invite those thinking of a card with people to visualize the person speaking. The spectators remain silent, and you do not fish for information. After they concentrate, you approach, pick up the five cards, and confidently hand each person their thought-of card. You are guaranteed to be correct every time! No memorization or complex formulas are required—just a Tarot Deck. This principle can be applied to virtually any Tarot Deck, creating the illusion that participants freely chose from a shuffled deck.
NO TOUCH ACAAN A red deck, uncased, rests on the table while a blue deck is shown and shuffled by the performer. A participant selects a card from the blue deck while holding it themselves—there is no force involved. The choice is entirely free, and the magician does not touch the deck during the selection. In fact, the magician doesn’t even need to know the card. If the participant is unsatisfied with their choice, they can replace it with another card! To ensure randomness, they count the remaining cards aloud after cutting off blocks. For example, if they select the four of clubs and have 22 cards left, another participant takes the untouched red deck and counts down to the 22nd card. Amazingly, the card at that position is the four of clubs. This effect is mind-boggling, requiring no sleights, math, or memorization. It’s completely self-working and ultra-clean—just use any two decks.
TELL TELL WATER The performer discusses research from Japan indicating that water can be influenced by emotions, words, and thoughts. Many in your audience may be familiar with this topic. You offer to demonstrate this phenomenon. Displaying a clear, empty half-gallon jug and a pitcher of water, you ask a participant to select a card (without any force) and commit it to memory. You then hold the inverted jug over the pitcher and ask the participant to think of their card. When you say “RED,” nothing happens; you repeat this a few times. However, when you say “BLACK,” water gushes forth. If you shout “RED,” the water stops completely! Saying “BLACK” again causes the water to flow. You continue by naming all four suits, with the water reacting correctly to the right suit and stopping for the wrong ones. Finally, when you name the correct value of the card (for instance, a 4), the water gushes forth again, stopping when an incorrect value is mentioned.
