Who Is He?
Will Houstoun is an internationally acclaimed magician specializing in media consultancy and the technical and historical aspects of magic. He holds a PhD in the history of magical education, focusing on Professor Hoffmann, a pivotal figure in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Will has authored two books on magic and produced numerous instructional DVDs and downloads available in his shop. He also edits The Magic Circle’s 105-year-old magazine, The Magic Circular, along with other publications.
As a consultant, Will has provided expertise for film, television, and radio, and has collaborated with organizations like The Wellcome Trust and The Royal Shakespeare Company. He is a two-time winner of The European Magic Championships and was named The Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year in 2015. Will lectures globally, including prestigious venues like The Magic Circle and The Magic Castle, and participates in conventions such as The Las Vegas Magic Invitational.
Will offers private lessons for magicians of all skill levels and leads workshops for children and teenagers. He is involved in Breathe Magic, an innovative NHS-funded program that uses magic as therapy for patients with disabilities.
Combining his passion for magic history and performance, Will has created and performed his one-man show, Dr. Houstoun’s Conjuring. This customizable show can last between 30 to 90 minutes and provides an enticing glimpse into the fascinating history of magic, leaving audiences both astonished and intrigued.
